Aquarium Digital
Why the battery a chance to heat up?

I was walking through an aquarium with my sis recently and still felt something hot hit my leg through my bag. I sat down and reviewed and found that the culprit was a AA battery that had put in my bag for my digital camera. It was so hot it burned my fingers, literally. I can not seem to find anything online about why this would happen, but my husband recently mentioned happened 9volt with a battery that was in his pocket. What causes a battery to heat a chance like this?

If you have metal in your portfolio that could have shorted the battery. You should always have non-use of the battery in a plastic bag. They are not heated in this manner. It can catch fire if you are not careful.
