Old Time Wisdom

The use of olive oil for skin care dates back centuries. In fact, the exceptional value of this natural jewel was discovered 5000 years ago … and quickly became an essential component of skin care.

The Egyptians (imagine the legendary Cleopatra), Greeks, Phoenicians, Romans all took advantage of the oil and appreciated. Today, we can observe the beautiful skin of women of Mediterranean. Many say that their secret is the oil of the fruit small.

Using this simple, natural secret "beauty" is …

* Promote a smooth, radiant complexion
* Helps maintain skin elasticity
* Heal dry, brittle nails and soften cuticles
* Condition and add shine to hair

Skin Care … Straight from the bottle!

When used by itself, the oil has a smell strong, distinct. If you can live with the smell, however, can create simple, mini-beauty treatments such as:

Bath: to moisturize soak, add 1 / 4 cup of oil and few drops of essential oil to your bath water. Lavender essential oil is a good choice when you want to relax. (Be careful – the bathtub will be slippery!)

Dry Skin Care: Gently rub a small amount of extra oil dry, such as elbows, knees and heels.

Hands: whip up a raw sugar scrub for fast, dry hands. Combine 2 tablespoons of oil with 2 tablespoons sugar. Rub hands thoroughly – Until the sugar begins to dissolve. Rinse with warm water. Voila! Silky smooth hands.

Foot care: Apply a generous amount of oil into the feet at bedtime. Cover with cotton socks. It is not sexy … but oh-so-soft feet in the morning! The works of magic hands, too. Apply liberally to hands and protected with cotton gloves overnight in white (hmm. .. even less sexy).

Facial Treatment: Free moisturizing facial mask with a tablespoon of oil, a tablespoon of honey and one egg yolk. Beat until well blended and applied to the face … then relax! Leave on face for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

Nail Care: Heat a small dish of oil (not too hot) with a tablespoon of lemon juice. Soak nails for 5 to 10 minutes. This softens cuticles while strengthening nails.

Hair Treatment: Create an effective treatment for dry hair by massaging several tablespoons of hot oil (again, not hot) on the scalp and hair. Cover with a shower cap or bag small plastic. That this work its magic over 20-30 minutes. Shampoo as usual.

Dry, chapped lips: Relieve chapped lips by the application a bit of pure oil … straight from the bottle. This works especially well when used at bedtime.
