Calibration Solution
Importance of the calibration curve?

Recently, I made an experiment to determine the unknown concentration of a solution using of a spectrophotometer, then we draw a graph of absorbance vs. concentration. At the last part, we ask the importance of calibration curve in fact, I really do not know its importance.

It can be used to determine the concentration of an unknown with only measuring the absorbance. Suppose that in his absorption curve is 0.18 to 0.35 of concentrations from 0.5 to 5 mm from the measurement of the absorbance of several solutions of known concentration. Then you have a sample of the same solution, but do not know the concentration. You can use the curve (for example, its equation, if a straight line) to determine the unknown concentration if determined by absorbance.
