Beaches

Philippine beaches are some of the best in Asia, with nearly 60,000 km of coastline, there are plenty to choose from. You find the best in the chain of islands known as the Visayas, which extends from the southern tip of Luzon to Mindanao to reach, and includes the main islands of Samar, Leyte, Bohol, Cebu, Negros and Panay, and hundreds of pint-sized attractive islet in the middle. Boracay, the most famous island in all whiole is small, a beautiful resort island but expensive. Quieter, equally lovely Visayan islands include Romblon, Bantayan, Panay, Bohol and Panglao Malapascua, which all offer the perfect combination of luxury, soft sand, a decent choice of beachfront accommodation and relaxed fishing villages.

Diving

With all that water fabulously tropical clear about, it is not surprising that the Philippines is one of the best diving destinations in Asia. You'll find some of the richest reefs in the Boracay, Palawan and Mindoro, but there are also spectacular underwater walls, slopes and coral arches in Moalboal in Cebu, and hammerhead sharks and manta rays, near Panglao Cabilao and islands against Bohol.

Manila

Cursed with the traffic and pollution that make Bangkok look like a nature reserve, Manila is one of the capital you only need to be supported or connections between shuttle flights. You can cheer, however, with a visit to the Chinese CEMETERY – is literally a ghost town streets and houses with two floors for the dead, many of them equipped with kitchens, bathrooms, electricity and air conditioning. Elsewhere, parts of Intramuros, the old city, goes back to the sixteenth century and the early years of Spanish occupation and combine the museums in Rizal Park, which focus on tribal peoples, including the Ifugao, and history colonial. Otherwise, Manila's best shopping and drinking, with huge shopping centers in all neighborhoods and trendy nightlife in Malate.

Puerto Galera

With stunning beaches, thirty dive sites along the main reef so rich in marine life, which is classified by UNESCO, and loads of accommodation at reasonable prices. Puerto Galera, on the north coast of Mindoro, is the perfect beach separated from Manila

Banaue

This small town in northern Luzon occupies a breathtaking landscape of mountains, steep valleys and amphitheatres of striking beauty of sculptured rice terraces. First slopes cut 2000 years ago by Ifugao tribes, whose descendants still live in the area, the terraces are so spectacular that have occurred in World Heritage. To maximize the landscape, follow the popular trekking route from Banaue traditional village of Batad. The bus ride to Banaue is a scenic landmark in itself, as it takes you along the Halsema Highway, one of the most stunning roads in Southeast Asia.

Palawan

Graced with Pacific coasts, cliffs and a beautiful thick rugged natural beauty, great remote island of Palawan is probably the single most rewarding destination in the Philippines. It has it all: snow, white sand beaches in El Nido, Taytay, Port Barton and Sabang Roxas, beaten diving in El Nido and Tubbataha Reef Marine Park, hiking trails through the jungle, tribal culture intact, and a noticeable lack of tourists. And there are eight famous mile boat ride through the spooky, bat-infested caves of the underground river in the underground Cueva de San Pablo,

Sagada

This charming hill village in northern Luzon is the home of the Igorot tribe, who are famous for their hanging coffins – suspended high in the caves beyond the reach of wild animals – and for their tissues. There are many possibilities for walks around here, too, and a Bohemian atmosphere of the village, all of which make a very nice place to hang out a few days.

Siargao Island

Rafting in Pagsanjan Falls

The scenery along this stretch of river is impressive Bombongan dramatic, and is a real excitement to the race of the fourteen rapids like slipping through the jungle, dress the canyon walls. If you get a sense of deja vu, it's because the final scenes of Apocalypse Now were presented here. Today is a hugely popular trip from Manila, but you can avoid crowds by staying close and making and boat trip early in the morning before tennis coaches above. Note careful though, as the dealers here are the most aggressive in the country
