For no people on earth is more certain that the Japanese, when you say: "You are what you eat." The Japanese are, by all accounts, the people with the problem of obesity at least, the highest rate of longevity and better health record. What are you eating?

The importance of rice

Rice is the staple diet of carbohydrates in Japan, consumed with every meal. However, the true basis of the Japanese diet is rice, but fish, consumed more than 70 kilos per person per year – which means that 190 grams a day. This combination of rice and fish as their staple food is far superior to U.S. beef and potatoes, the European year some of this, little of that diets, and light in front of the Russian pork, potatoes and mayonnaise bread every day.

Let's see what else you eat. Miso and other soy products! Miso is a fermented soybean product, and a soup made of it which is the light tasting and easy to digest. One has all the benefits of soy with it. Moreover, the famous soy sauce. Japanese people on average consume about 200 grams of product soy a day.

So why are so thin and healthy?

There are some very good reasons. One is the moderation of consumption sugar.

Low in sugar

The Japanese consume only 20 kilos of sugar per year (compared to America's 71 kilos per year). Another is the Japanese consumption of cereals (which obviously includes rice) to 105 kilos per year (compared with the American 68 kilos per year).

The human body seems to be much better with natural grains and less sugar than the fries and "sugar in everything you eat 'diets. The Japanese have much lower incidence of heart disease and cancer than Americans. As you eat as much meat as Americans (or more), and smoking, the theory is refined sugar and stress are the two largest contributors to the destruction of one's health.

Portion size

Another important factor in the Japanese diet is portion size. The portions are small.

This means that you enjoy your meal, eat slowly and enjoy it. No "Junction" burgers and fries around here, and the size of the cola king.

Eating with chopsticks help you eat more slowly, take small bites and are able to appreciate what they're eating. This helps in digestion, and that's a proven fact.

Two other factors that must be mentioned that make the diet Japanese so successful.

The first is the breakfast.

The typical Japanese breakfast can (and usually includes) green tea, steamed rice, soup miso with tofu, spring onions and tortilla and both raw and grilled fish.

This gives your body everything it needs to start the day. You feel better, and that food does not add weight to your body at all. In fact, the mechanism that stimulates the metabolism. You will not gain weight, if overweight, lose weight.

Variety never get bored

The second factor is the variety.

A typical American will have about 30 varieties of food per week. A typical European (especially in Southern Europe) will have about 45. The typical Japanese will have about 100 varieties of food per week and includes portions of fresh fish, vegetables, fruit and a variety of meats.

There is an imperative element here as well, the Japanese cook your food lightly and therefore never feel stuffed and stuffy nose after eating.

As you can see the diet and health is great and is perfect for those wanting to lose weight and avoid disease.
