Reverse Osmosis
What is the best reverse osmosis or distillation to filter drinking water?

I do not care about wasting water or energy use, only interested in filtering, etc. I've heard of the membranes of reverse osmosis filter example, can encourage bacterial growth, etc.

You can accomplish essentially the same water quality with the technology, if not concerned about the waste or power. RO membranes can get a free kick by bacteria or algae water source, so they must be periodically disinfected by chlorination or other treatment biocide. But this is mainly because the growth caps until the membrane reducing production.
