River Stone

Karen Peck and New River have released their first new album in over two years. The album is titled "Journey of Joy". I spoke with soprano favorite Southern Gospel music, Karen Peck – who has been nominated for Favorite Soprano year eighteen years in a row! – The day it was released Journey of the Joy.

The first thing that struck me was Karen Peck to his heart to reach people with the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. From his heart, the word comes, both in music and in his speech. Its soft, humble spirit comes through in everything that speaks and sings.

I asked Karen Peck on the first single released to radio in Southern Gospel Album of the Day of Joy. The song is called Last Night. "Last Night" was written by a wonderful friend of the mine, she is also a great composer. Marsha His name is Henry. She wrote the song that Jeff and Sheri (Easter) singing "Roses Will Bloom Again" and co-wrote the song I sang years ago, "God likes to work when nothing else". It is also written a bunch of other great Gospel songs.

"She has been very ill and doctors have been unable to diagnose it, so for a year has not been able to work and she has just been really down and out. She wrote this song, 'Last Night' and called me and said, 'Karen, I have written a song I think you might like.

Karen says that when he first heard the demo that he began to mourn. He recalled that when they were in the studio recording of the song that the Spirit of God fell on the study and "had the church." "The only thing that can compare to when you recorded the song," Four days late "in 2000. Four days was so powerful in the study and had a similar situation with" Last Night "recalls Karen Peck.

"Last Night" and most of the songs on "Journey of Joy" has a rather progressive sound. The songs are Southern Gospel definitely, but also show an increase in their latest album, "Good To Be Free". Karen said: "We want to grow forever in the Lord and as we grow in the Lord, then every area of our lives seems to grow and improve. Our constant prayer is "Lord let this minister songs for someone's heart. "

"Journey of Joy" contains songs that are bound to bless the listener. I enjoyed the song, "then it came," which features the voice of Devin McGalmery. This young man shows a voice that will make people interested in Southern music Gospel take note. His vocals on "Hold On" reminds me of Jason Crabb.

Other songs on this album of Southern gospel that stand out are: "When the stone rolled away. "This may be the strongest song on the CD and the windows of the harmonies that this trio is capable of." Prayers whispered " is a moving song, with one end that has a call to salvation by the Rev. Billy Graham.

Karen Peck I asked what has been his heart, ultimately, what God has been doing in their walk. "I want to please God," Karen smiles. "I have faith in knowledge. It is very easy for me to believe for others. I can believe that God will come through others. I can believe and not doubt at all. I have friends who are going through situations and pray for them and I believe with all my heart that God will perform. But then, when there are situations in my life, then begin to wonder: "Good God – God Bless "its so different when the shoe is on the other foot.

"So what I'm praying now is – I probably spent half of my life on this earth. I pray that the next half of my life going to count, really count for him. I want to please God with my faith. I have faith, believing that no matter what I face in my life, that He is there for me and it will take care of me, not "maybe", but that He ".

Its this desire to please God that shines on this album of southern gospel, "Journey of Joy" by Karen Peck and New River.
